Video: Sinkane – “Warm Spell”

(stereogum)

SInkane helped bring the first Ohio Screening of Afro-Punk to the Frank Hale Black Cultural Center here in Columbus back in 2006. His band Pompei This Morning played the after show. I did not attend because I had to work. But I remember females discussing Ahmed having a hole in his jean shorts that left him somewhat exposed which I thought was intentional in a punk rock way but I don’t know for sure. Pompeii This Morning was a heady, cerebral, textured, post-rockish instrumental project so I am not trying to dehumanize Ahmed or make him seem less intelligent by saying he may have put his manhood in people’s faces.

I am more saying this  Philip Di Fiore of Rumpus Room directed video for Warm Spell has more nudity than that. “Warm Spell” appears on Sinkane’s debut LP Mars, out via DFA. It is also on the Warm Spell EP which features the single and remixes by Larry Gus and Duppy Gun.
