Jamel Shabbazz Documentary At the Wexner Center November 14th

Wild Style Director Charlie Ahearn made a documentary about Jamel Shabazz.
Do you remember that book Back In the Days  that had street scenes of 80’s New York that people used to steal from Urban Outfitters and draw graffiti in?
That was Jamel Shabazz’s book. Jamel captured candid photos during Hip Hop’s formative years.

The Wex is screening this Street Photographer: Charlie Ahearn documentary November 14th.

Above is an an interview with Charlie Ahearn and Chino BYI about Jamel Shabazz.

Funny side note, Charlie Ahearn calls the X-Men an obscure graffiti crew in this interview.
I mean Charlie Ahearn did direct Wild Style so it is all relative.
But KEO from X-Men did MF Doom’s “Operation Doomsday” album cover.
